It came to a point where my cats were on a special diet, my bigger, braver one was on weight management while the other two were on heavy supplements. It has become quite a hassle and we simply can’t be there all the time to watch over them, this has led to serious problems, with the two cats constantly going to the vet because of malnutrition. My partner and I would be on constant pet monitoring when it comes to feeding time to make sure that our cats get to eat their share. ![]() It is a problem that we have learned to live with for the past two years that we have had pets. This lead to their food constantly being stolen by the other two dogs and sometimes my other braver, bigger cat. While one of my cats would usually fight back, the other two are not that brave and are quite timid. The main issue why we bought and got acquainted with the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder is my bigger dogs would tend to steal my smaller cats food. If you can picture that out, that is one chaotic household. That is five different personalities and five different attitudes across two species, discounting my partner and me, plus other occasional visitors, my niece, and my nephews. You see, I live in a multi-pet and multi-cat house. Not just their physical health, but also their interaction with each other. ![]() Even though I switched over to Feeder Robot, I still think that SureFeed Cat Feeder is a decent option.Įver since we got the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder, I have learned so much about the behavior of my pet cats as well as ways on how to make their lives easier and healthier. The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder is compatible with all pet ID microchips sold or available worldwide and works especially well with the SureFlap RFID collar tags It works with embedded microchips or microchips that are installed on collars. The SureFeed Microchip Cat Feeder is an automated cat feeder with a collar sensor that can be programmed with your cat’s microchip. Uses 4 AA batteries, easy to change when you have to.This is a thorough review of the SureFeed Microchip Cat Feeder from SureFlap that I included in the list of the best cat automatic feeders. Our metal door has not seemed to affect the operation of the device with no additional parts added.ĭoor can be latched closed from both directions which makes it nice to keep kitty inside or to hold the clear door for cleaning purposes. Will not unlock to allow other cats or animals in unless you program that animal to the door, so we're good there. 2 months in, we have yet to see one put any effort into attempting to get inside, so far so good. I installed batteries prior to mounting in the door for convenience sake of holding the door to the cat that way once it was installed, it was already programmed, made things easier.Ĭan be latched so door moves in one direction and not the other, door moves in both directions or not at all. ![]() ![]() I actually did this prior to installation. Programmed to the cat's microchip without any issue, follow instructions- it works well. A little encouragement with treats or food and he was using it the same day. Onto other customer concerns the click noise of the little motor releasing the door catch may be a hang up for some cats, but it wasn't for mine. I installed mine in a 6 year old insulated metal door without issue, see pics for fitment ideas. Couple drill bits, some masking tape to protect the door from unwanted saw scratches, a Phillips screw driver and a jig saw with appropriate blade for wood or metal doors is really all you need. Ok, so yes, you have to cut a hole in your door, no big deal.
